Here's my latest happy-making fabric purchase, I saw a picture of this design on Flickr years ago and have been hoping to find a bit ever since, and yippidy-doo-dah I found it!! I'm such a sucker for these cheerful naive 70s kids designs, sourcing this totally made my week.
as you can see I haven't ironed it yet... |
or taken very good pictures of it! |
It only arrived this week so I haven't taken my scissors to it yet, it tends to take me a while when I love a bit of fabric this much! As I can't bear to cut into it yet, today I am playing with some other lovely bits...
I could spend all day arranging and rearranging fabric like this, but at the end of it I feel guilty for not having actually achieved anything...so I'm off to get the scissors and sewing machine out. I've got a couple of commissions to do, and I haven't done any sewing for a few weeks, so I need to polish my stitching skills!
Just want to say welcome to new followers, thanks for reading and joining me here. And to everyone who comments, thanks so much...I am struggling to reply to all every message but I love reading your comments and will try to get over to your blogs to leave a message for you there!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Rachel xx
Wonderful prints, certainly took me back to my childhood!

DeleteRachel that fabric arrangement is breaking my heart.....adore it!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabrics are they? tell all please...more more...D x
Oh Daisy a lot of them I don't know - I just know how to track them down
Delete- which mainly involves spending hours online searching fruitlessly and then eventually finding one treasure if I'm lucky! I believe the teal at the top is a Dekoplus design, the two red/pink/purple ones are both vintage Conran fabrics, the one with the houses is Dutch, the orange with circles and the blue/green/white at the bottom are both from Germany. The blue and white floral at the side is from the lovely Pomme De Jour so may be French; I got the delightful floral trim from her too. I am planning some eye-poppingly colourful patchwork cushion covers, I'm glad to know you like my fabric choices! xx
Thanks R...I must get searching cos 'I wanna be like you oo oo"
Delete(from the jungle Book)Love that film....

ReplyDeleteThat fabric is gorgeous! I wouldn't want to cut into it ... I'd want to make a million more things with it than I had enough for and wouldn't know how to choose! Happy sewing :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely fabrics! Can't wait to see what you make with them.
ReplyDeleteHello lady - lovely bright fabrics - you quite made my day x
ReplyDeleteFabrics do indeed brighten any day - I was thinking of you this morning as I was sifting through some materials and bits and bobs. I have taken some photographs and will do a post of some 70s bits that you might find interesting. Also 'found' (in back of cupboard) some 70s (?) children's curtains with houses on (not that Daisy one) but made of funny fabric - I will post pictures of that too when time allows. Oh and some nice Scandinavian fabric with herbs pots and cats that I think I have also seen on Jane Foster's blog...when feeling brave I will take the scissors to it....yikes! Colour and pattern - can't beat it!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
