my weekend...

this weekend I...

went to a spa with my best friend...

ate AMAZING tapas...

spent time in the garden in the beautiful sunshine...

and 'slept' all night on the floor of the boys room, comforting R whenever he woke up, hot and feverish and crying for cuddles and calpol.

I am knackered!  Mind you, I can imagine how I'd be feeling if I hadn't done the fun stuff to balance out the night shifts, and it would be a whole lot worse than this.  So despite (and/or because of) the lack of sleep and the poorly boy, I am grateful for the good stuff.

And if you're ever looking for a tapas bar in Bristol, just click on the link above.  It was gooooooooood!

Hope you all had a great weekend, with more sleep and less snot than mine!

  4. Balancing the good with the bad is always the way to keep Momma's sane! I know we never mind looking after our sick children, but a few nights on a bedroom floor, I know those aches and pains!! least you had the spa and tapas to cheer you up xxx

    1. You're so right Hazel, I never mind at the time, it's just good to know I'm helping him through feeling so rotten - but I always feel a bit crippled after a night on the floor! I definitely needed the spa and tapas to balance out those sleepless nights. You'll be starting all those sleepless nights again soon yourself - exciting! xx

  5. Hope that you have caught up on your sleep and the boys are better. Thanks to your good self I have been looking at certain fabrics with new eyes and been making some bits and bobs. I found a lovely teapot that 'matches' that Dekoplus fabric the other day....not that I need another teapot...or any fabric...
    Hurray for the sunshine!
    Take care

    1. Hee hee I was writing a comment over on your blog while you were writing this one on mine - spooky! Rufus all better now and I got a full nights sleep last night, hurrah! I am thrilled to hear that I have inspired YOU in some small way - that thought will have me smiling all day! Would love to see that teapot, and needing sometimes has nothing to do with it! Yay indeed for long sunny summer days, all the sweeter because we've been waiting so long for them.
      Take care sweetie! Rachel x
