this week I have mainly...

been sewing flowers for a friend's wedding bouquet...

and for her to wear in her hair...
and for her daughters to wear in their hair.

The wedding was yesterday, we went to the reception last night.  It was a lovely romantic occasion in the best sense of the word, the couple have been together for 20 years and have 3 gorgeous kids, and are still totally smitten with each other.  A great start to our weekend.  I hope you are managing to enjoy your Saturday despite the rain.

Have a lovely weekend.

    1. Oh Jo, I failed miserably - somehow I just don't feel the photo mojo so much in evening interior type settings - was too busy drinking and dancing! xx

    1. Thanks Rubie! I was inspired by a recent Vintage Style Wedding supplement that came with my Mollie Makes magazine - the fabrics were new but every flower had a different vintage button in the centre. xx

    1. Thanks, I'm so glad you like them! The ceremony itself was just for family, and the bride had a different outfit for the evening do. So I'm having to make do with these not-very-good photos that I took before I gave the flowers to her.

I was pleased to see that you had one of those lovely prints too - I'm a nightmare with things that come in different colourways, I get greedy! xx

  5. they're absolutely gorgeous, i love the idea of a handmade bunch of flowers like this, you can keep them forever and wear them again and again, and i like the idea of a red and white colour scheme too x

    1. Yes that's why the bride was pleased when I suggested a fabric bouquet, she didn't want to spend a fortune on flowers that would die and end up in the bin - and her daughters get to play weddings with it too! And of course the hair clips can be worn again and again. xx

  6. The flowers are beautiful! I love the idea of being with someone for 20 years, having children together and then deciding that you still want to be married, that you would still choose that person. Lovely. x

    1. Isn't it great?! To be honest it has inspired my partner and me, we have been together for nearly 13 years and have our 2 lovely boys, we have decided to tie the knot when we hit 15 years - we are still very much in love now and hopefully still will be then! And that gives me 2 years to make my own bouquet - a bit more than the 2 weeks I spent on this one! xx
