fabric, fabric everywhere....

...no, I'm not complaining, it makes me so happy!! Saturday brought me 2 lovely parcels, both presents from lovely bloggers....

a stack of vintage sheet fat quarters and vintage wallpaper pieces from the totally delightful Ada, aka Vintage Sheet Addict...

and, totally unexpected and stunningly generous, a piece of fabulous Dekoplus from my friend Jenny of The Custards...

big thanks to both of those lovely ladies, I am one lucky blogger!!

And inspired by all this gorgeousness (and by the need to make some space in my stash cupboard for these new arrivals) I rummaged in my piles of fabric today and pulled out some summer brights to play with...

Yum!!  Looking forward to getting my sewing machine out soon.  If you feel the need for a patchwork cushion cover, send me a message on this blog or e-mail me at rainbowvintagehome@gmail.com - I love putting fabrics together in unique ways to create one-off pieces for people, maybe you'd like one for your home or as a gift for someone?

Hope you're having a nice day.

  1. Loving those blues! Totally delicious! Is one of them the Jonelle Candy from me? I've also spotted some of the pink fabric I sent, in your quilt in the pic at the top; so glad its been of use!

    1. I always think of you when I'm playing with blue fabric, you've got some amazing blues yourself! Yes that one at top right of that photo was from our birthday swap, I love it. And that pink bit was exactly what my quilt needed, I've still got a bit left, it's lovely. x

    1. Thanks Gillian - I know exactly how you feel, I have had to stop buying fabric because I really can't justify it when I already have so much - it has taken me years to build up my collection but I must use some of it to make room for more! x

    1. We had a sort out recently and for the first time all my fabric is in one place instead of spread around the house, it's great! I was really surprised by these lovely gifts, I feel very grateful and I'm looking forward to spreading the love, I'm using the fabric from Ada in a patchwork baby blanket for a friend. xx

  7. Oh dear fabric envy (again)... Just love the blues... and the bright ones too... I never seem to be in the right place at the right time for the beauties you have but am building a good collection of embroidered and printed table cloths.
I fear I may have the vintage fabric addiction too and have no guilt what so ever!!

    1. I'm glad you don't feel guilty, I used to but I've got over it and embraced my inner fabric geek! I am totally addicted to vintage fabric, but I'm picky and I don't really spend money on anything else for myself - pretty much all my clothes come from charity shops, and I prefer picking up a quirky bargain to splurging on fancy 'must have' items for our home. Love the sound of your tablecloth collection, I've got a couple of nice ones which are far too pretty to cut up, but also too pretty for mealtimes with children so they don't see daylight as often as I'd like!

  8. Love it. Hope you have your fabrics somewhere to be admired and not in a cupboard hidden! Beautiful x

    1. I'm afraid most of them are away in a cupboard, they used to be on shelves but I think my partner found it a bit too cluttered looking! So he moved them and now at least they're all in one place. Also having them hidden encourages me to make things with them, definitely think I need some cushion covers with those brights and blues in them...x

    1. I'm certainly counting my blessings, it was so sweet of Ada to want to share her gorgeous vintage sheets with me! I will definitely be using them to make lovely things, for our home and for other people too - they're too nice to stay in the cupboard for long! x
