Great collection....raining here sadly!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey! Seems like the whole of the UK is a very soggy place to be at the moment!
DeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteIf it's any consolation the weather's been awful here - rain, rain, rain & ever so windy...
Glad you like my choices Deborah! Oh dear, the whole world's in a cloud...been really windy here too.
DeleteLove the suns!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them, if I can't have real sunshine I'll have to settle for these! :)
Deleteall gorgeous. love the kirsten ulve and the blanca gomez especially. would you believe since i clicked on this post the sun has come out. really! x
ReplyDeleteYay!! I was hoping this post would work some magic - it hasn't worked here, it's been horrendous today! I think those 2 are my favourites too. x
DeleteHi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist writing as it has been a lovely sunny day here and we have been 'basking' at 10'C ! Sorry to hear that the UK is drowning, but presumably the drought threat is disappearing? I do like the suns - I am following your blog with fascination as so many of the 'vintage' stuff is recognisable to me from childhood....... Oh I feel old.......
Love from the land of Marimekko (technically not part of Scandinavia!)
Karin
I'm glad that somewhere in the world the sun is shining, I've almost forgotten what that feels like! Yes fingers crossed there will be less talk of drought, it always seems absurd to think of drought in the UK, it's generally a pretty soggy place. Oops I had forgotten that Finland isn't a Scandinavian country, I think in design terms it's lumped in with Sweden and Denmark cause they're all so damn stylish, in their own distinctive ways. Sorry to make you feel old, I'm getting that way myself! Love from Bristol, Rachel x
DeleteI must confess I do not 'get' Marimekko but quite like Swedish and Danish designs. I like Finnish glass if it is solid and simple, but not the funny 'maariskooli' things http://www.iittala.com/web/iittalaweb.nsf/fi/tuotteet_sisustaminen_mariskooli
Deleteas for fabrics, everything gets utterly covered with fur here, so designs don't matter so much - except I do have a weakness for Moomin design bedding - maybe I am not so old afterall. Have a dry evening.
I like some Marimekko designs more than others; and I agree about the glass, simple is definitely best. And I LOVE the Moomins! Has dried up a bit but very windy.
DeleteI love vintage illustrations. I have a few prints to frame to cheer up the walls. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, me too. I collect vintage kids books just for the illustrations, I found a few goodies recently that I'll be blogging about soon. :)
Delete:) makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad! :) x
DeleteSuper cute pics Rachel, I'm loving the Portugal one and the one with the penny farthing.
ReplyDeleteWierdly enough over here people love the rain! Not me of course, I flipping hate it. I thought they were joking at first or were a bit odd but no, it's normal for people here to love the rain. The hubby says "if one more person says nice bit of rain we're having I'll ..." you can guess the rest.
Jo :)
Oh Jo that made me laugh, it's tipping it down here again, but I will imagine that I'm an Aussie today and smile through the rain. xx
DeleteLove all of them! Can't decided which one I love the most but think it's the fifth one down. Love your pinterest btw. You have excellent taste lady. AnnaX
ReplyDeleteAh thanks honey that's a lovely thing to hear! I love Blanca Gomez so much. My sunshine magic worked for a day or so but the rain has returned, boo! x
