randomness and tonsils

Monday is here again, and with it  has come grey skies and swollen tonsils for my lovely 6 year old.  Sad to see him feeling so rotten, only yesterday he was flinging himself around like a loon and when asked what he was doing said he was 'being a Victorian Hamster Warrior Champion', as hastily illustrated here (with added fireworks):

I love the randomness of children's creative minds, the way they pluck seemingly disparate concepts and combine them in new and hilariously unpredictable ways.  I could do with a bit of that sometimes, I think I often tread quite a well worn path with my own creativity.  Here's hoping for a quick recovery for M, and that a bit of his crazy 6 year old randomness rubs off on his old Ma while he's at home.

  1. Hmm I don't think I would have ever have put victorian, hamster and warrior into the same sentence! Get well soon Max! x

    1. I know, it was a truly random phrase, which is why I asked him to draw it for me - I love to get a record of these funny moments, it's all too easy to let them pass almost unnoticed and then they're gone for ever. My Ru is poorly too, so it's a bit of a rubbish day round here - get well soon to you too! x

    2. Brilliant post, I love Max's amazing imagination. Ellis is so full of admiration and worship for him, he has been involving Max in his stories ever since the pirate ship visit in the corner of the city farm on tuesday. :-)
