an apple a day...

Happy saturday!!  it's a bit of a grey day here, but it's been a busy week and we all need a rest, so the drab weather gives us the perfect excuse to snuggle up with a film, coffee, the paper and a pile of lego - a range of entertainments that keep the whole family happy!

It's been an amazing week for my blog, after my coffee with the lovely Lou of littlegreenshed I had the busiest day ever, nearly 200 views and 7 new followers - welcome all you lovely people, and thanks for joining me!

I've also been having fun over on Pinterest, and this week I gained a follower over there who I've admired for a long time - the lovely Tanya Jerrard AKA Pomme De Jour, who sources gorgeous vintage homewares, wallpapers and fabrics where she lives in France, and sells them on her website and in her Ebay and Etsy shops. Over the years I have treated myself to the occasional tin or piece of lovely fabric from her, and I was surprised and pleased to find that she was keeping an eye on my pins!  So pleased that I had to treat myself to a little something from her Ebay shop that I've had my eye on for a while...

Yum!! I've been thinking for a while that I don't have enough fabric that's in the yellow/orange area of the spectrum, so once this little beauty arrives I will have a proper rainbow stash. Yay!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day!

  3. Have just found your blog via Lou. What a wonderful fabric stash you have! Lovely is my key word too. I try to take some of them out of my posts but they are still littered with it! Its a lovely word1

    1. Hi Karen, lovely to have you here! I'm ashamed/pleased to say that my header photo is actually quite a small selection of my stash - despite my house being tiny I find it very hard to resist a good colour/pattern combo. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one who overuses words, I'm going to try to edit a bit more carefully! :)

  4. I've just found your blog via Little Green Shed too! And very glad to have done so as I am a fellow Bristol vintage lover, I think we share the same taste! My primary school teacher used to rant a lot about 'pretty lovely and nice' being rubbish words to use, I really didn't like him though so have continued to use them all with merry abandon :D

    1. lovely to have you here Sarah, and having just popped over to your blog I can confirm that we indeed have very similar taste - I've got that same bird tray (as does Lou) and we've both posted about recently discovering that we love yellow! well done for ignoring your teacher, there is room for many words in our writing, and although I'll be trying to mix it up with a few more gorgeouses, wonderfuls and greats, there are times when only a lovely will do! 1. Hi Caroline, my goodness I'm glad I gave Lou a present, it was just for being a lovely friend but she has certainly sent a lot of people in my direction - it's lovely to have you here! Your blog looks lovely too, I must say I'm really enjoying the 'making friends' aspect of blogging - I didn't really know what to expect back in January when I started, it's proving to be really good fun! x
