Well my camera and PC seem to have put their differences aside, so I can
share my photos from my morning off yesterday - a fun half an hour rummaging in local
junk shops, wondering what on earth they'd do if anyone wanted to actually buy anything that wasn't in reach...
and wishing I had a spare wall to paper with old record covers...
Ooh the sun's just come out, I'm off to hang my washing on the line - thanks to my lovely friend Dom for letting me take a load round to her house this morning, our new washing machine hasn't been delivered yet!
Have a great day,
Rach x
I can see some nice chairs in those pics! Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, yes there are some lovely chairs there, but I have no idea how anyone's supposed to get to them! I couldn't bear to take a photo of the whole wall of shelves full of tablecloths and other textiles - it's tantalisingly visible but impossible to get to because of the enormous pile of random tat in front of it! x
DeleteMaybe the shop owner really just want to keep it all? :)
ReplyDeleteI too saw some lovely chairs, but I would feel bad asking to have a closer look at one of them.
We have sun too, warm sun and hardly any snow. Lovely, but strange.
Lilli x
Hi Lilli! I was talking to the owner, she runs the shop and her Dad does house clearances - she said it wouldn't matter how much space she had, he would just fill it up - she spends her life trying to organise it and fit more and more in! It is cold and grey here this week, but hoping for more sun again soon! Rachel x
DeleteI found a 70s chair yesterday, covered with a print that is OK but nothing special, I am going to recover it with hopefully something wonderful, one day...when I have time...
ReplyDeletesounds like a nice project, I would love to do an upholstery course one day, give me something else to do with all this lovely fabric! by the way, thank you for my order, very sweet of you to put a little present in too - I love that Alain Gree card! x
Deletewow where is this?!
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca, the chairs and suitcases are in one shop and the record covers are in another, both of the shops are on North St in Bedminster - we've got some great shops, come and explore! :)
DeleteOops, having looked at your blog properly I've realised you're not in Bristol any more! Let me know if you come back for a visit, I could give you a tour of our lovely selection of junk shops if you didn't discover them while you were here. :)
DeleteNot anymore unfortunately - I do miss it lots! I always loved St Nicks market, Gloucester road and Focus on the past in Clifton for a good antique find :)
DeleteI love St Nicks too, it's a fabulous market. I'm in South Bristol and it's amazing how having 2 smallish kids interferes with getting over to Gloucester Road or up to Clifton - I will be much more adventurous once my little one starts nursery! I can recommend North St for a couple of hours pottering if you come back for a visit. I would miss Bristol terribly, I suspect I'll never leave! :)
